Goal setting is a great way to be productive, but it can also be overwhelming! Let’s get to it! Here are some personal development goal ideas for your mind, body and soul:
1 – Exercise
Exercising isn’t only for your body, it’s also amazing for your mind. Exercise has been proven to help release stress. This is a great goal to make for a daily habit and overall lifestyle change. I know for me personally, I love exercising (not in the moment though!) because afterwards I feel so accomplished. Exercising can help mental health and it’s an overall amazing goal to make!
2 – Read a book
Reading can help calm your mind when it’s racing! It’s also a smart idea to read something that can benefit you and help you grow. Whether that be a storyline you relate to or an educational book, there are plenty of ways to be productive while reading.
3 – Journal
I will always be an advocate for journaling! It’s best to make a daily habit, but even just doing so when you’re feeling overly stressed out can benefit you so much. For me, I am someone who pushes thoughts to the back of my mind without even realizing I’m doing it, and it’s hard to break a bad habit when you don’t even know it’s happening! Journaling has helped me greatly to release my emotions and sometimes surprise myself with how I’m feeling because I didn’t even know myself! 4 – Try a new hobby
Finding a hobby you enjoy will help you grow and find joy in life! There are plenty of options to try, and if you don’t like one, try another!
5 – Use positive affirmations
Something that you can do to improve yourself is work on the way you think. This is definitely something that doesn’t change overnight and that you’ll need to work on daily to see a real change. Whenever you notice yourself thinking one way, use positive affirmations to change that thought. Changing your thoughts from negative to positive will have an overwhelmingly positive affect on your life and who you are as a person.

6 – Get off your phone!
Ugh don’t we all need to do this! Our phones can be so easily addictive. It’s a good idea to limit the amount of time you spend on your phone, and go do something to be productive instead. If you notice that you’re on your phone often, another tactic to try is to only look at positive, uplifting things. For example, on social media your mind is filled with all kinds of negative things. I made this a goal last year to clean up my social media accounts and it amazed me how many people / celebrities’ I unfollowed. I flat out deleted 2 social media accounts altogether! Bottom line: don’t spend all of your time on your phone, and make sure the time you do spend on it is uplifting.

8 – Wake up earlier
So this one will be hard if you’re a night owl, but waking up earlier is always a productive thing to do! I’m an early bird so I will admit it’s easier for me (plus I have 2 furbabies that never let me sleep in #dogmomlife). Either way, if you can make it a goal to make this an everyday habit, you will be able to get things done sooner and more time for your day!
9 – Make a self care bedtime routine
It’s important to get a good night’s rest, and establishing a self care bedtime routine will help you wind down in the evenings to make sure you can get some sleep. Making time for some “me” time in the evenings is definitely a priority for me! I’m known for having an overactive mind, so this is essential!
10 – Quit procrastinating!
Listen, no matter what goal you end up picking, whether if it’s on this blog post or not, it all comes down to one thing: quit procrastinating! Teach yourself how to not be lazy and just get up and get it done. You won’t always feel motivated, but be dedicated to showing up for yourself everyday!
